Dear colleagues,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I’m pleased to invite you to the 3rd International Conference on Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever, which will be held at the Makedonia Palace Hotel in Thessaloniki, Greece, from 19th to 21st September 2023.

The conference will give scientists from around the world the chance to exchange information on all aspects of the virus and the disease and report new findings. There will also be the opportunity to compare CCHF with other viral hemorrhagic fevers and discuss common approaches for treatment and prevention.

The city of Thessaloniki has a rich culture, with more than 3000 years of history and many attractive places to visit during your free time. I encourage you to join us and contribute with your knowledge and experience during the 3rd International Conference on CCHF.

Abstract Structure

The abstract should not exceed 300 words, written in Arial 11 cpi (characters per inch) font fully justified. The abstract should be submitted in a doc/docx format (word) file. Typing Instructions for (word) file:
1. The title of the abstract in UPPER CASE
2. The main body of the abstract in single line spacing with the following order: Introduction and aims of the study, methods, results and/or discussion, conclusions.
3. Do not include bibliography.
4. You can also use tables and images:
- Tables: max. 1 table (max 10 columns/10 rows). The words used in the table count toward the total word count of the abstract.
- Images: max. 2 images (max 500 KB and max 600(w) x 800(h) pixels). An image counts as one word towards the total word count of the abstract.

Submission Process

Follow the directions of the online submission process and upload the file in the appropriate field.
The authors’ names and affiliations must not be included in the full body of the abstract, they must be filled in exclusively through the online portal.
Abstracts will be published exactly as submitted, without any editing to the original submission.

Acceptance Policy

Abstracts that do not meet the above mentioned requirements will not be accepted.
The correctness of the authors’ personal details (names and affiliations) is entirely up to the responsibility of the author who has submitted the abstract.
The submitting author will be also responsible for all the communication (please make sure that a valid email is submitted).
After the abstract submission, no changes will be accepted under any circumstances.
Abstracts submitted by fax or email will not be accepted.
Abstracts received after the deadline will not be accepted.
Each paid delegate can present only one abstract as presenter.

Cancellations made after 1st of July until 15th of August will be reimbursed 50% of the total amount of the registration fee.

Full Day Stageira Tour

Stageira

Birthplace of Aristotle, the greatest philosopher of ancient times and tutor of Alexander the Great. The city was founded in ca. 655 B.C. by colonists from the island of Andros. Down to the Persian Wars, Stageira was a free, independent and prosperous city.

The area of Municipality of Aristotle is the "entrance" to the  monastic community of Athos. You may also visit numerous of religious monuments in the area such as Zygou monastery, the Pilgrimage in Megali Panagia, St.Stefanos  in Arnaia, the Assumption of Virgin Mary and Panagouda in Stagira, the monastric quarter of Panagia-Joy for the sad ones with the church of St Athanasios Athonitis in Palaiochori and many more.

Aristotle's Park

Park

The Aristotle's Park, a unique theme park of Halkidiki, is located at an altitude of about 500 meters, in the historical village of Stagira, beside the remains of Machalas, the capital of Mademochoria. It is worth visiting for its interesting instruments and the great view to the gulf of Ierissos. The park preexisted and the wonderful location was chosen in 1956 to host the statue of Aristotle, made by sculptor Nicholas, in honor of the great philosopher who was born in Ancient Stagira.

The unique interactive instruments were placed there in 2003 by the Municipal Corporation of Stagira-Akanthos. They are experimental instruments, operating by rules of physics that are mentioned in Aristotle’s textbooks and especially in the one called “The Naturals”. With this addition, the park has become a favorite destination for every visitor and school, since it combines recreation, entertainment and education. It is estimated that has more than 15.000 visitors during the summer. The tower of Madem Agas is also located there, with the house that was the administrative center of Sidirokafsia mines.

General Information

The International Airport ‘Macedonia’ (SKG) connects Thessaloniki with approximately 38 countries and more than 60 foreign cities with direct flights, as well as 35 cities and islands in Greece (direct flights and transit).

The airport is located just 16 km from Thessaloniki. Connected directly with the city center via bus lines OASTH No 01X and No 01N (night) and via the IKEA transfer station by Halkidiki Bus Station, the center and eastern districts of the region of Thessaloniki. At the airport area taxis are stationed in servicing passengers. The cost of the route from the airport to the center is about 20 euros.

At the airport you will find currency exchange, automatic teller machines (ATM), catering, duty free shops (Duty Free), other shops, parking, car rental companies etc.

The Tourist Information Office operates Monday – Friday from 8:30 to 20:00 (except holidays).

In restaurants and hotels, taxis or other services, tipping is customary if you are pleased with the service. Approximately 5% of the bill is a good guideline.

Thessaloniki offers an easy and quick way to commute; no city spot is more than 30 minutes away from the center by public transportation.

Surely, the best way to get acquainted with the historic center is by strolling down the UNESCO monuments, the market, the traditional taverns, as well as the coastline with the beautiful sunset, the distance between them is not more than a few minutes’ walk, after all. Public buses and taxis are the main means of transportation of Thessaloniki, while bicycles have become increasingly popular over the past years. The picturesque boats and the alternative Segway, complete the list of transportation selections during summer period.
